Originally called Holborn Hill, Millom is a charming little coastal town on the southern fringe of the Lake District and overlooking Duddon Sands. Here the visitor is spoilt for choice as to what to do first; visit the Lakes, the coast, or wander around the Millom shops and restaurants. All visitors though at some point want to take home a memento or gift and they are hard pressed to find a better selection and quality than at the aptly named double fronted shop, Spoilt For Choice. A gift shop with real “star quality!”
Here, from beautiful jewellery attractively on view in illuminated display cabinets to soft toys, cards, stationery and bags...of style naturally, it is difficult to imagine that the ideal gift might not be found at Spoilt For Choice. With an impressive list of suppliers resulting in fascinating stock from around the world, local appeal is also prominently in evidence in the form of Lakeland Fragrances, reflecting the romance of the Lakes and created locally using traditional methods, and of course the world famous Kendal Cake. Probably the first ever energy bar it certainly lived up to its reputation in 1953 when it was they say the most popular item in the supplies of the Hillary and Tenzing as they conquered Everest.
Open daily, Spoilt For Choice is a proud member of Millom’s Fair Trade “One World Project” where the aim is to ensure that suppliers worldwide and including the UK receive adequate recompense thus guaranteeing a continuity of quality products. With parking nearby and open seven days per week, a visit to Spoilt For Choice must be a must, not just on the tourist’s agenda but also for local residents intent on finding that perfect gift whether it be for someone else or more personal!
An Aladdin’s Cave of splendid gifts and mementos, many sourced in this South Lakes area, you are assured of a friendly and informed welcome when you step through the door at Spoilt For Choice.
